Previously, it was necessary to manually open and close the insertion port of a device called a 'Y-Connector.' However, with Port-C, endoscopic treatment instruments such as laser fibers or baskets can be fixed to the desired length with a simple lever operation, without the need to open or secure the insertion port. This is regarded as incorporating an innovative concept called In-Scope Instrument Control (ISIC).

기존에는 ‘와이커넥터(Y-Connector)’ 라고 하는 기구의 삽입구를 열고 닫아 조작을 해야 했지만, 포트씨는 삽입구를 열거나 고정하는 과정 없이, 간단한 레버 조작만으로 레이저 파이버나 바스켓 등의 내시경 치료 기구를 원하는 길이에 맞춰 고정할 수 있다. 이는 내시경 내 기기 제어(ISIC)라는 혁신적인 개념을 더한 것으로 평가받고 있다
